OUR SPECIAL PLACE
Our community in Playa Grande is made up mostly of families in search of a quiet and healthy lifestyle to raise their children and live in harmony with the nature that surrounds us. It is a National Park constituted for the protection of the nesting area of the largest sea turtle in the world - the leatherback turtle. It also borders one of the most important wetlands in Costa Rica designated as a RAMSAR International Site and Wildlife Refuge Tamarindo Estuary. These characteristics have popularized Playa Grande as an ecotourism destination.
Due to the large influx of new residents and the high demand for infrastructure, the need arises to organize and unite our community. Asociación Playa Grande Sostenible is a non-profit organization created to promote a balance between coastal development, human well-being and environmental conservation. We take this initiative to serve our greatest purpose, to serve each other - for fellowship, family and community.
